I worked in the publishing department of the tourism marketing agency for Orlando for eight years, so the mantra that Orlando is one of the top meetings destinations became part of my muscle memory. The truth is, it is. Before I left to go to Sport Diver magazine, my interest in photography was on the wax. I took these shots as part of another Orlando Digital Photography Meetup outing…completely incidental that the subject of the shoot was the Orlando/Orange County Convention Center. And that I ended getting one of my shots published in the Orlando Meeting Planners Guide. The assignment was to shoot at night with a tripod and no flash. So that meant a slooooow shutter speed. For fun, I did some experimenting with moving the lens in and out of focus while shooting and with panning. Didn’t mess with ISO, but if I had known about it then, well, maybe then I would have. But, then again, if I had, I wouldn’t have captured these shots.
