I don’t know if it’s the same for you, but it seems to me that life’s journey is continually leading many of us to places we never imagined it would — in mind, body and soul. Each stop an adventure that is heart fulfilling or heart wrenching — or some combination thereof. While some of us might have encountered more of the latter two kinds of experiences than we would have liked, I’m convinced it’s the former that keeps us going. So often, after such an experience, I think, “How can there be more, this is sooo rich?!” Yet, with youthful optimism and expectation, I eagerly await the next one every time … the discovery of a new place, a new person, a new thought, a new feeling … the next moment. Or, just as, if not even more, exciting is the discovery of a new perspective on that which I was so sure I already knew all there was to know.
“May we all have the good fortune to arrive at places we never imagined during our journeys here on Earth, becoming more than we already are.”
Case in point: Never could I have imagined as a kid that I’d be blogging on a virtual public space about my life’s adventures, with the hope of inspiring others by example to keep their joie de vivre in sight at all times while on their own journey. Nor could I have imagined this thing called life would lead me to become an avid traveler, professional journalist, business owner, paddle boarder, pilot, knowledge seeker, photographer, and Standard Poodle owner, among so many other things — and in no certain order. After all, in my Omniscient Youth (you know what I mean!), I had my journey all planned out. Looking back, it turned out it was a narrow road with a limited view, indeed. Looking forward, the road — and view — is wide open. May we all have the good fortune to arrive at places we never imagined during each of our journeys here on Earth, becoming more than we already are. For me, I hope that includes “someone who makes a difference”. Just maybe bycswhite.com is one of the ways to get there.
